In March of 2023 my friend Bryce and her husband Erich, who lived in Chicago, began the process of relocating to St. Louis. Erich is a St. Louis native and with baby plans in the future they wanted to be close to his family and that support group. Bryce and I actually spoke about moving to St. Louis about six months prior so it was an honor to help them purchase their first home!
Being avid St. Louis CITY SC fans, Bryce and Erich were often in town for games which allowed us to schedule showings around their visits. The first step for these first-time home-buyers however was to connect them with Jamey Jo Nicholson at Delmar Mortgage to get them pre-approved for a mortgage, which Jamey did very quickly. Then we were off on the hunt!
We had six showings scheduled the day we found their home, from Shrewsbury to Ballwin and all the suburbs in between. This home actually wasn’t a property they had on their list, but I knew we had to check it out because it matched their wants and needs perfectly. Plus the South Hampton neighborhood in South City St. Louis is a great location for a young couple with it’s walkability and easy access to restaurants and nightlife. After the day was done, they knew Devonshire was their home.
As you might imagine this adorable South City Gingerbread home was a bit of a hot commodity. We had to beat out several competing offers which we did utilizing a several strategies. I was in constant contact with the listing agent during the offer period building a relationship with them and ultimately winning the home for my clients!
