An Idyllwild Wedding Story | California Wedding

I was so honored to join my dear friends, and soon to be family members, Caroline and Dale at their intimate wedding in Idyllwild, California. They could not have picked a more beautiful location to get married in Southern California’s most beautiful hidden mountain town.

Where is Idyllwild California?

Idyllwild is my favorite California mountain town just 2.5 hours east of Los Angeles. Sitting at 5,413 feet of elevation “Mile High Idyllwild” is in the Pine Cove / Fern Valley of the San Jacinto Mountains nestled between two prominent rock formations, Tahquitz Peak and Suicide Rock. There isn’t any snow skiing in Idyllwild so it keeps the crowds low in this small Southern California mountain resort town. It’s the perfect weekend get-away to the mountains from Los Angeles.

My First Wedding Video

To be honest I was a little nervous filming my first wedding video, particularly a dear friend’s video, but Caroline and Dale we’re very gracious to let me capture theirs. The song “My Sweet Lord” off the All Things Must Pass album by George Harrison was Caroline and Dale’s wedding song.

There really couldn’t be a more beautiful song to capture the joy of the entire weekend. I think my favorite moment was when Caroline started crying during their dance because she “always dreamed of getting married to this song.” Excuse me while I go dump out the buckets of tears I just cried.

Overall it was a wonderful weekend full of love, family, and music. Plus I got to sneak away for a hike of Suicide Rock! Cheers to you Caroline and Dale. I love you both.
