Hiking West Ridge Trail in Weston Bend State Park Missouri

Today I’m hiking the West Ridge Trail in Weston Bend State Park in northwest Missouri, about an hour north of Kansas City. This 2.4 mile loop trail is actually a combination of three trails (Harpst Trail, West Ridge Trail, and the Paved Trail) and offers some pretty beautiful bluff views of the Missouri River. There is an overlook just off the parking lot at the beginning of the West Ridge Trail that is ADA accessible.

The trail begins at the south end of the parking lot up the paved path by the trash can. The sign for the Harpst Trail you see on the east side of the parking lot is actually the end of this loop trail.

There aren’t many hiking trails close to Kansas City or in Western Missouri which makes the West Ridge Trail in Weston Bend State Park truly a wonderful Missouri hiking trail.
